Ushimado Roman Club (Community Club)
Providing local services to enjoy Ushimado
Ushimado, the town from which
one may enjoy a spectacular view of the Inland Sea,
known as the Aegean Sea of Japan
The Shiomachi Karakoto-dori Street flourished in
ancient times as the port of call for the envoys from Korea.
Even now the streetscape preserves charming vestiges
of the shrines, temples, and buildings of the past.
Time stands still;
the clock moves slowly;
one’s soul feels free.
Please come spend some time in this relaxing place
and create your own memories of “Ushimado”.
We of the Ushimado Roman Club (Community Club)
invite you to enjoy Ushimado
and we will endeavor to offer only the best hospitality.
“The Shiomachi Karakoto-dori Street (Self) Guided Walking Tour” (Hoshuan)
From June through September, a Yukata (informal cotton kimono) is worn.
Let’s stroll around the town and gaze at the picturesque streets lined with luxurious buildings
that date from the early Showa period (around 1930).
Let’s enjoy a visit to the “Tenkoro-an” where we can share laughter and conversation
and taste the “obanzai”, delicious side dishes our housewives
have prepared using locally grown ingredients.
At the Tenkoro-an, our local hosts will regale us with folk tales
and amusing stories of Ushimado,
help us prepare our tour plans for tomorrow and maybe offer some life counseling.
This plan is for guests staying at the guesthouses below.
